before he left for chicago, AD wanted to dress up and go to the north end for dinner, so we did, see below.

convo:food:wine:dessert all done with style. and damn if everyone didnt look smokin... we sure do clean up nice. went to tigerlily after cruising through top of the hub and downed some cocktails. hope AD had a good time, it's sort of hard to tell.

was a bit preoccupied with my moving situation, which kind hung over me most of the night. wasnt sure if it was still going through and it made it a bit hard to live up to the way I looked, but fortunately today cleared it all up and I can strap my rockets back on

catching up on the last season of Six Feet Under and at the end of an episode, thought back to something that happened in the episode and had a huge (huge) epiphany about music... an aspect of what it is... and subsequently what I'm trying to do when I write... in a way that makes sense to my mind in a concrete non-mystical BS-free way.

yesterday was the first day since the 19th that I didn't write... but it was a great day.

applied to a bunch of jobs in the morning, then went out for tea with xxnn. had a great multi-hours deep conversation and life analysynopsis (pre: 4 years) over irish breakfast and chocolate filled croissants.

across the river for dinner on the steps of the MFA and gamelan concert. relaxing, enjoyable, and meditative. decided I like balinese gamelan better though, so will try to find out about the MIT gamelan. imagine explaining this to a 3rd grade field trip. then back to play scene it and get $0.10 buffalo wings at whiskey's.

forgot to bring camera yet again.

but I found out I will be getting myself a nice present for the ^29 as BSS (see post on chest lodging below) will be having a show in Boston the day after my birthday. bathump bathump.

Revealing article in the NY Times about the Baltimore Police Commissioner and his drug addicted step-daughter. David Simon's Homicide mentioned (his show before The Wire (see links)), and Commissioner Hamm seems like a watered down "Bunny" Cole to me. Maybe this story will pop up in Season 5.

we needed to be at home with our families ....... lots of babies too. so we reconvened in mid - february and since then we've been trying to kick start the old beast ...... you don't realize once you've stopped how hard it is to regain the momentum ........ you literally get out the habit of doing it........ but often the only way to stop repeating yourself is to stop doing that thing, walk away from it ....... sometimes you have to go away in order to come back.....

well, actually, that's ed... from radiohead's new blog to chart the progress of their upcoming LP... and from the sound of it they're probably planning two more in succession. (LPs, not blogs)

also, broken social scene has lodged permanently in my chest. looking forward to their new album in october.

written at least something the last 3 days straight. first time since may. uninspired but forward.

forgot to bring the camera out last night. hung out in inman square, bukowskis (according to knuckles and beerpanther), last color & talea zeitgeist show, not as good as previous show, christina's ice cream.

went to hear color and talea last night and the show did not disappoint me or my invited guests (which is good for my rating). bought their new CD, which is good, but after seeing them this second time I've decided there's nothing like hearing them live, so back next saturday for the last show of their two month zeitgeist residency.

in other news, I'm back in cambridge, though not yet in my own room, but ken's bed is comfy (even if he's not in it). thus comes the end of a 9-year long roommate relationship and commonlaw marriage. good luck back in the homeland bruthah.

started reading DFW's A supposedly fun thing I'll never do again.

got my splint removed today and now am wearing a removable one. break slightly bent, but in an acceptable range apparently. physical therapy is tougher than I expected... let me see if I remember how to bend my fingers.

on a related note, I am itching to play the piano. my insides need to get outside.
